1. A: 你在看什么书?(Nǐ zài kàn shénme shū?)

Which book are you reading?
B: 我在看汉语课本。明天有汉语考试。(Wǒ zài kàn hànyǔ kèběn. Míngtiān yǒu hànyǔ kǎoshì.)

I am reading my Chinese textbook. I have a Chinese exam tomorrow.

2. A: 游乐园里有一个很有名的鬼屋,要不要一起去?(Yóu lèyuán li yǒu yīgè hěn yǒumíng de guǐwū, yào bùyào yīqǐ qù?)

There’s a famous haunting house in that amusement park, do you want to go with me?
B: 不了,我很胆小的,我怕被吓到心脏病发作啊!(Bùliǎo, wǒ hěn dǎn xiǎo de, wǒ pà bèi xià dào xīnzàng bìng fāzuò a!)
Oh no, I am really coward, I’m worrying myself having a heart attack after being shocked.

3. 我时间不多了,我得赶紧去公司上班。(Wǒ shíjiān bù duōle, wǒ dé gǎnjǐn qù gōngsī shàngbān.)

I’m running out of time, I have to go to work immediately.

4.  A: 你在烦恼什么啊?你看起来心情不好。(Nǐ zài fánnǎo shénme a? Nǐ kàn qǐlái xīnqíng bù hǎo.)

Are you bothering about something? You seem to be in a bad mood.

B: 最近工作上有很多麻烦的事情要处理,每天都睡得不是很好。(Zuìjìn gōngzuò shàng yǒu hěnduō máfan de shìqíng yào chǔlǐ, měitiān dū shuì dé bùshì hěn hǎo.)

There are a lot of troublesome stuff to deal with recently, and I can’t sleep well every night.

5. 我觉得这次考试不是很难。(Wǒ juédé zhè cì kǎoshì bùshì hěn nán.)

I think the exam this time wasn’t that hard.
